We are delighted to introduce our latest acquisition, Cae Glas Nursing Home in Denbigh and Supported Living Services (Wrexham and Denbigh) which transferred into Potens’ Group in February 2017.
Cae Glas is a Registered Home, including nursing care, for up to 25 individuals with enduring mental health needs. The Registered Manager of Cae Glas is Jay O’Looney.
Jay explains: “We currently support 22 individuals within the service – all with enduring and complex mental health needs. The service is nursing led, with 7 qualified nurses, on site. We also work with community nursing teams across the region to drive forward outcomes.”
The main aim of this specialist provision is to move people on a pathway to greater independence as part of their recovery journey.
“Now part of Potens we are looking to develop and define our pathway model further by providing more clinical therapies ,on site, in order to enhance the quality of service provided. Focus will be centred on providing opportunities for residents to improve social skills and achieve greater independence to allow progression to Supported living Services within their chosen area.” Jay adds.
The supported living schemes in Denbigh & Wrexham provide support for adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs and these are led by Registered Manager Di Aspey.
Di says: “We support 20 individuals in total across Wrexham and Denbighshire, with 37 staff working across these services and myself and 2 Senior Support Workers leading this team.”
The team deliver support to individuals with a range of needs including learning disabilities and autism in both supported living and outreach services.
“Our main provision is supported living services, but we do support individuals in an outreach capacity who have moved on from our other services to greater independence. This has given them consistency of staffing – one of our main aims.”
