Staff at The Barn in Leyland, have been putting Potens’ Challenge Charter into action too – putting TRUST in their learning from recent Person Centred Active Support Training, and in return helping Mark to increase his independence, confidence and skills.
Potens Challenge Charter is a promise that all staff make to uphold the values of Potens; to be courageous for and with the people they support and to challenge themselves and each other positively to be the best they can be. Our team in Lancashire have put the challenge charter at the top of their agenda this month with a brilliant example here of putting their promise into action.
Time to Talk Day 2020 took place on 6th March and services across Potens got involved in the day with the key aim to encourage everyone to be more open about mental health – to talk, listen and break down barriers.
Heath Lodge in Greater Manchester have received two awards in Potens’ latest monthly staff recognition scheme – with Manager, Lorraine Walker named ‘Manager of the Month’ and Senior Support Worker, Lorraine Scott named ‘Employee of the Month’ , nominated by their colleagues for being real inspirations!

Watling Street Road in Preston, Lancashire, held a ‘I’m a Celebrity’ style event at their service in December with lots of animals and critters coming to the service – they even had a bushtrucker trial!

Some brilliant feedback from CQC inspectors and our stakeholders following the Care Quality Commissions (CQC) latest inspection of Potens’ Supported Lives provision. The inspection, which took place in September, acknowledged the high quality support being delivered at the domiciliary and supported living services in Bradford – highlighting that the support provided is ‘Well-led, Caring, Responsive, Safe and Effective’.
