Potens recognised in innovative training ‘Star Performance Awards’

On Friday 18th August Potens’ staff teams and people supported received a series of ‘Star Performance Awards’ from training provider Person First Solutions in recognition of their commitment, professionalism, passion and high standards of person centred care and support delivered over the past 12 months.

Person First Solutions, who presented Awards, provide training, health consultancy, and specialist clinical services across The UK. Over the past 3 years their team have provided a range of specialist mental health training to Potens’ teams across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

Patrick Doyle, Clinical Director, Person First Solutions explains: “As an organisation, dedicated to care excellence, we recognise the importance of the key values of commitment, professionalism and passion for care and believe they should be celebrated. Our star performance award is judged against a set of quality indicators and has only ever been given on three separate occasions since its inception in 2011.”

In a presentation ceremony held in Leyland, Patrick presented Managers of 7 of Potens’ local services with awards in honour of their team’s exceptional commitment.

Patrick adds:  “The staff teams at Potens have been constantly present during the variety of short courses we have provided in the last 12 months and these awards are testament to the high standards of person centred and ‘Person First’ care and support that they clearly provide for their service users – which has been a pleasure to witness.”

Patrick also presented two Special Awards to Michael Tarrar and Natalie Garratt who are supported by Potens in Preston in recognition of their involvement in specialist training.

Patrick explains: “Despite difficulties in their life both Michael and Natalie have taken time out to get involved in a specialist course in self-harm – contributing to the teaching and learning of their staff teams.”

Alice Stanley-Jones, Potens Area Manager said: “This is a great example of joint working and having Natalie and Michael’s involvement in this training has added so much value to the development of our teams at Potens and increased knowledge in best practice mental health.
“I would like to thank both Natalie and Michael, our Managers and Patrick for taking the time out to help us celebrate these collective achievements.”
