Oaklands is a residential service for 3 adults (18 plus) in Barry.
The service supports people with Multiple and profound learning disabilities and Epilepsy.
The service comprises of a 3 bedroom bungalow including a residents bathroom; lounge/dining area; kitchen; office; laundry room and training room. The service has a lovely wheelchair accessible garden and includes parking for up to 6 vehicles
This is a great location for local day services and just a 5 minute drive to many facilities in Barry and 20 minutes into Cardiff
Our latest Care Inspectorate Wales report said:
“People appear happy, content and well cared for. Care staff have a good understanding of people’s needs and provide care with kindness and compassion.”
“Care documentation is thorough and robust and personal plans of care contain detailed information about people’s needs and how they are best met. These documents are important as they guide staff on how to care for people correctly. There is further information on specific conditions available for staff and risk assessments in place where necessary.”
On the day of inspection, there was an external professional visiting a person living at the service. The visiting professional told us, “This is a good home with a really good staff team”.
