World Mental Health Day Celebrations! 👏

Lots of our services have created different ways to support World Mental Health Day! 👏

At Westward they have all enjoyed a discussion about mental health and what it means.

The wellbeing team at Westward said, “Loneliness was a key factor in the discussion and how this affects a lot of people around the Christmas holiday period. So here at Westward, we brainstormed ways to help those who may be affected and the people we support attended a local Community Centre and volunteered at the Alice Cross Centre to see how they could help. We started a collection to aid the Alice Cross Centre to help pay towards meals for people in the community and surrounding areas on Christmas day who may suffer from mental health, self-isolation or people who may just not have somewhere to spend this time of year with others which can impact on their mental health. A donation of £10 gets a person a Christmas meal, company and transport on Christmas Day. At Westward we have managed to fund a total of fifteen meals so far and are very proud of the collection and are hoping to raise more!” 👏

An amazing outcome well done everyone for supporting the people in your local community with their mental health, if anyone would like to support The Alice Cross Appeal, please see the link below for more details:

At Beaufort House, their well-being lead has organised a tea and talk for the staff and people we support! By creating a tearoom serving a choice of sandwiches and crisps then a section of fresh cream cakes. 🥪🍰 Along with goodie bags for everyone to enjoy. Giving everyone the chance to discuss mental health and the importance of talking about their own mental health. Finishing their tea and talk off with a who am I quiz. 👏😃

Our Finance and Payroll teams joined forces this morning and held a Break Buddies coffee session for World Mental Health Day with a 100% turnout to support this year’s theme of workplace mental health! 😊 Finance Manager Nikki said “Our morning get-together went so well we now plan on holding a Break Buddies Coffee session each week for drop-ins to run alongside our virtual wellbeing board. 🙌 Each person received a joyful pack to open this morning to start the day with a smile and to catch up with each other!” 😀

It looks like everyone has had a productive day discussing the importance of mental health and checking in on each other – well done everyone! 🧡
