In June we welcomed Brandon to Paxton House! 🏡
Staff member Helen said, “Brandon has been a wonderful addition to Paxton and is a pivotal part of the house and it wouldn’t be the same without him now. 😊 Brandon is a huge Dr Who fan and has brought all the staff a whole new appreciation for the show. Since moving in he has built a special relationship with Andy as they both love to share a movie together. 📽️ Staff get regular showcases of his talents, including drawing, singing and various dancing styles 🎤 and often leaves staff amazed at just how talented he is. 👏 We have seen a noticeable improvement/progression as Brandon is now trying new foods and activities and has a very keen interest in cooking, especially baking. 🧁 We are continuing to introduce Brandon to new experiences to help him discover new activities he may love and he has come on in leaps and bounds since he moved in with us. 🙌 Brandon attends college and has recently received his certificates, all of us here at Paxton are very proud of him and will be framing them and putting them on his bedroom wall. 🤩 Everyone at Paxton feels very fortunate to be part of Brandon’s life journey and to support him as he continues to progress and grow into the man he is yet to become.” 💛
Helen asked Brandon what he is proud of himself for and he said:
“I am more independent. I take better care of myself. I like looking better, washing my hair and having my hair cut. 💈My favourite part of living at Paxton is baking and cooking. I like that I can go out every day if I want to, my favourite place I visit is Trent Lock golf, they have a nice hot chocolate there.”
Gareth who lives at Paxton House said “Brandon is helpful around the house and makes me laugh and I am happy Brandon moved into Paxton.” 😀
Senior support worker Michelle said, “Brandon has brought new life to the house. He makes the staff and fellow people we support smile and laugh, we are lucky to have him!”

It’s so fantastic that Brandon has settled in so well to his new home and is enjoying finding a new routine and activities/hobbies.
