Time to Talk Day

Today is Time to Talk Day, a day to raise awareness and start a conversation about mental health. Organised by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.

The day provides an opportunity to check in on one another and the conversations that take place today have the power to change lives.

Ideas to get those important conversations started on Time to Talk Day from Mind:

✨ Check in with a friend.

✨ Pop our posters on your community notice boards.

✨ Host a coffee and chat in your community centre.

✨ Put some posters up in your school.

✨ Run a lunch and learn in your office.

✨ Text a friend.

Across Potens, services have hosted their own events in support of the day and to get those conversations started.

At our head office a Time to Talk Event has been arranged both online via teams and in person to ensure flexibility for everyone to attend and talk to each other.

Over at Achieve With Us the people we support attended an event called ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ in support of Time to Talk Day. This provided them the opportunity to go and talk to the local police to alleviate any anxieties that they may feel whilst out and about in their local communities. Encouraging the people we support to talk with each other about their anxieties and mental health. ✨

Please take the time today to check in on the others around you and encourage those conversations around mental health and the understanding that it’s ok not to be ok.
