Over the past few months at Middleton Lodge, they have been looking for a local pool that is suitable for the people we support. ♂️ After lots of searching Deputy Manager Paige came across the Pioneering Centre which is perfect for the people we support.
So off Paul, Mark and John went last week for their first swimming session!
Registered Manager Christine said, “John and Mark loved the first session this week. John attended swimming every week before lockdown and asks daily to go in the water. Water therapy has so many health benefits and we have already noticed a difference. This is such a massive achievement and something that the people in Middleton Lodge will be enjoying weekly. Everyone enjoyed a nice hot drink after the swimming. Whilst having their coffee in the cafe, a nun went over and gave staff some lovely compliments about how amazing they had been with the lads and how happy and healthy they looked. I always think public feedback is amazing for staff to hear. I was in Middleton yesterday and the smiles from John and Mark were lovely and you could see both enjoyed this activity. Roll on next week.” ♂️

It looks like you all had a fantastic time at swimming, it’s great to see you all enjoying a new activity together and enjoying your time at the pool. Swimming is a great way to keep active and can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing.
