Roberts journey with Potens began with a school work experience placement our head office in Birkenhead. Now a senior support worker across Potens’ Wirral services, here he tells us his story.
Robert said:
“My Name is Robert Jones. I did work experience in Poten’s head office while I was in school and this led to a short-term position over the summer holidays where I was the personal assistant to the domiciliary care area manager.
I then started with Potens in 2007, at Elm Road North and worked there for 3 years as a support worker before deciding to step down into a bank role within the company to further my education.
During that 3 year period I worked across Potens’ Wirral services both in residential and domiciliary care. I returned to work for the company full time in residential and over the course of the next 6 years I attained both level 2 and 3 NVQS and developed and improved my skills.
I then chose to move into domiciliary care and spent time at Hertford Drive before it was de-commissioned and I was involved in supporting the tenants to settle into their new home at Walker Heights, before I transferred to Highgate House.
I stepped up to become the senior support worker at Grange Mount and started to help with the Merseyside community and 12 Osborne Road – stepping up to acting team leader while staying at Grange Mount as senior support worker.
I have enjoyed the challenges working in three different services. I’ve met a variety of different people and worked with new faces and past faces both staff and tenants and I look forward to whatever the future may bring to my career in Potens.”
