Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day everyone! ✨
At Dale House, the people we support have been busy making hand painted pebbles to give to members of their local community to make them smile as an act of kindness.
Senior support worker Michaela said “Everyone at Dale House has had so much fun painting these pebbles over the last few days with bright pictures and quotes to make people smile! I even ended up having to get more because we ran out, we were having so much fun. Me, John and Jane then went out in our local community and placed these around the village, including outside all our local amenities, our GP practice, the chemist, the post office, the local shop, the local football field, outside people’s homes as well as outside a local care home. Whilst out Jane explained how it was making her feel so good and kept shouting with excitement “this is amazing!”. We spoke about how making other people smile can end up making you smile and this is why it is so important to be kind to others. Not only does it make the person feel good about themselves but also ensures we feel good about ourselves too. I shared with Jane and John that this is why I love my job so much, because I love to make the people we support happy, and if they are happy then I am happy! We have seen a post on a local Facebook page of someone who has found 2 of the pebbles with her 2 daughters and said how great they were and thanked Dale House.”
