Potens’ Time to Talk Day Events! ✨

We wanted to share more of the great Time to Talk Day events that took place across Potens services. ️

Cae Glas arranged an event at home to try out their new popcorn maker and enjoy some hot chocolates in their cosy lounge. ☕

Manager Debbie at Calder View and Pendle View said, “Last week I asked my staff from both services to send over pictures of themselves as a baby. In our staff meeting all the staff from both services were given a list of staff names and they had to guess the baby, it was great fun with lots of chatting and laughing and got a bit competitive with Pendle team guessing the most. We then enjoyed a catchphrase session, with our coffee and cake. I had a chat with my Locality Manager Joanne which was really nice talking about ourselves. I feel it was a great success!”

Locality Manager Joanne said “As part of Time to Talk day I arranged for all the managers and seniors to meet for a 10-minute chat. Names were drawn for the pairs, with an important rule that work was not allowed to be discussed and those participating where asked to find out one fact about each other that they didn’t know. Some of the things that came out of the chats were:

Receiving a music trophy for best musician of the year at school.

Talking about family and the things that come with caring for family.

One person was having a tough day and the staff team had been supportive.

Celebrating a birthday and is looking forward to going to the escape room.

Plays the flute.

It was good to find out some new things about each other.”

Parkside Lodge wanted to do something a bit different this year…

Senior Sarah said “This year we wrote to our future selves, we talked about worries we had, what we wanted to leave behind and goals for the future. We thought next year we could open the letters and see what has changed and what we achieved. We discussed as a service the things we wanted to put into our letters and goals for the future or even the month along with our tea and cake. It was a lovely day of getting people talking and thinking positively about themselves. I can’t wait to open the letters next year!” ✉️

Khadija at Supported Lives said “Our Time to Talk event provided a fantastic opportunity to come together, connect, share ideas and engage in meaningful conversations. ️ In the spirit of kindness, we also embraced Random Acts of Kindness, with staff members receiving thoughtful, gifts to brighten their day. We were honoured to have a guest speaker Lydia from Mind in Bradford who shared insights into the incredible services they offer. From mental health support to local resources, they provide valuable help to those who need it most. We also learned how we can get involved with their work, making a positive impact in our community. Thank you to Ian and Pauline for sending Potens gifts for staff.”

Great photos, well done everyone!
