Potens 12 Days of Christmas is ending soon so we are recapping some of this year’s fantastic entries (Days 1-4)!
Day 1 – Festive salt dough modelling and at Heath Lodge, they made some fantastic salt dough ornaments.
Chloe who led this activity along with Beth said, “We turned on our Christmas lights, played Christmas songs and Colin and Brian began making the salt dough, weighing out the correct measurements and mixing it all. Once our recipe was perfected, we started to model our ornaments, Colin made a free-hand Christmas tree. It looked amazing! Brian made a snowman with a little hat on top. ⛄ We then baked our ornaments and began decorating them. The people we support thoroughly enjoyed this activity!”
For day 2 – the best Christmas photo, Heath Lodge had a fun day with a house full of lots of laughter, lots of smiles and happy memories made.
Staff member Chloe said “As day 2 rolled around, we began building our own Christmas display. At Heath Lodge we believe Christmas is all about family and creating festivity with decorations. The people we support began their day with Christmas Jumpers and all joined in to make the best Christmas photo, that will be displayed in the house to show the excitement of our residents for Christmas day.”
Day 3 – Best Home Bake and at Westhead the ladies baked some wonderful Christmas cookies and all had a fabulous time together baking and decorating the cookies. At Primavera they created some wonderful festive cakes and gingerbread houses that they were all very proud of.”
Chloe from Heath Lodge said “Day 3 was an exciting day to show off our artistic skills. The people we support began the day by baking a chocolate yule log! We used an assortment of shapes such as Santa, penguins, presents and wreaths to create the perfect Christmas yule log. We then made some Christmas cupcakes. At long last we finally got to sample the delicious cakes, it was great to see the interactions and the excitement of how the cakes would turn out and of course taste. Roy was one of the first to sample the cakes and gave them a whopping 10/10!”
Day 4 – Christmas Workout, at Achieve With Us the people we support joined the live workout on teams which got everyone moving. Deputy Manager Louise said, “We all had a fun time and the event was a huge success.”
Manager at Heath Lodge Justine said, “Christmas Jumpers, Rudolph’s shiny nose, Tinsel, Reindeer ears and the team were ready to start the workout. It wasn’t long before we were joined by some of the people we support, with lots of laughter and lots of breathless staff by the end of the session but definitely one for the memory book. We finished the workout off with a dance-off to the Cha Cha slide!”
