Paxton House have entered their village’s Scarecrow festival, Borrowash in Bloom, to be held in June to celebrate the Queen’s platinum reign and in the run up to the event are getting some expert advice after taking part in a special workshop.
Support Worker Hannah told us: “Paxton House are taking part and will be making and displaying our scarecrow outside the house as part of the village celebrations.
The festival is run by local community group ‘Borrowash in Bloom’ and they recently arranged a scarecrow making workshop with a local landscape gardener, Wayne Peapell. Myself, Gareth and Ada booked onto the session.
Gareth and Ada had great fun making a scarecrow by stuffing clothes with straw and using wire, canes and cable ties to secure it. They picked up lots of tips from Wayne on the way to make the best Scarecrow and are ready now to begin Paxton’s creation for the festival!”
We can’t wait to see the Paxton’s Scarecrow once it’s complete!
