At Paxton House, each month they create a monthly reflection board of all the things they have done and achieved across the month and they recently completed their December board!
Manager Viorika said, “As it’s January we have completed our board for December and it is more packed than normal with all our festive celebrations. What has been so special in December is the amount of time the staff and people we support have spent together. In December we had 2 parties, one at Paxton with friends and family invited and another one with our closest Potens houses. Both parties were full of dancing, socialising and music. There was Christmas day itself and of course New Year’s Eve. Two of the people we support, Lydia and Shamita went to see some Christmas illuminations at The National Arboretum in Staffordshire which was greatly enjoyed by both. When I asked Gareth what his favourite part of December was, he replied amongst other things “Going Christmas shopping cause I bought staff in town, bought a new Christmas jumper” – sounds like a grand day out me! ️ Our display is not only the photos, lists of days out and quotes but also some of the art work everyone has created in time for Christmas including their personalised photo baubles. This has added a lovely 3D element to the board which is also very tactile. The board as always is a focal point to the home, with the added bonus of being sensory with all the different textures. It has been so nice to put all our shared experiences into one place as well as celebrate individual ones.”
A great way to reflect and celebrate all your achievements from the previous month and to remind you of all the good times, proudly displayed at home.
