Natalie’s care journey

 

Natalie is one of Potens’ North Wales Managers, who began her career in care after seeing an advert for support workers in a paper 21 years ago!

 

Natalie said:

“I got into care after seeing an advert for a support worker in the paper. I had not considered anything like that before so thought I’d give it a try and absolutely loved it. That was 21 years ago! Following that I worked as a senior, then registered manager.

 

I joined Potens in October 2014 as Registered Manager for Orme House after working in similar roles in other organisations. Since day one, I have found the company to be nothing but supportive and there is always someone willing to help you when needed.

 

There is a strong emphasis in developing yourself and I have been constantly encouraged to further my learning, most recently completing my level 5 diploma in Management.

 

I am very proud of what we as a team have achieved at Orme House for the people we support. We have worked hard to focus on people’s independence and can see a massive difference in how people we support live their lives.

 

I have most recently been supported to apply for the Locality Manager position within North Wales. This was a massive achievement for me, and whilst I have only been able to carry this role out 2 days per week whilst still managing Orme House, I have thoroughly enjoyed all the opportunities it has given me to gain new skills and be involved in other activities.
