John and Helen from Cecil Court have recently been on a fabulous dream holiday in Cyprus with support staff Amanda and Tracy! ✈️
Senior support worker Michaela said, “It always amazes me and makes me so proud when our staff take time away from their own families to make the people we support dreams come true. To ensure they have the most amazing memories to treasure for a lifetime. Helen and John got up to so much when they were away, John even spent his birthday out in Cyprus which he absolutely LOVED! ❤ On his birthday they all enjoyed a show at the hotel entertainment. The night was running flat for the rest of the room (unlike John, Helen and the staff who had been up dancing all night) until John got up on stage with the singer! The staff explained how the room which had been pretty quiet all night, turned into an almighty roar of claps, cheers and whistles for our John who had danced and sung his heart out with the singer on stage in front of a room full of people. Helen and John enjoyed exploring the local village, going on a boat trip, as well as spending a day at the beach in the sea and sunbathing. ️ By the end of the week everyone at the hotel complex knew who Helen and John were, if they had been out for the evening and didn’t go to the hotel entertainment, the next day they would all be asked where they were and told that the night wasn’t as good without them there. It was so lovely to hear how they had been welcomed by everyone and how Helen and John were made to feel included. It made the holiday even better when after they all returned home, we found out that a peer who also works for Potens shared the same holiday with John, Helen and the staff without realising at the time. Both Amanda and Tracy were put up for a nomination for the amazing support that they had provided throughout the holiday. It was so heartwarming reading this nomination and how Helen and John were supported throughout their holiday. We all knew they were in good hands and for them to be recognised for this is more than well deserved! ❤ Thank you both so much for creating so many memories for both John and Helen.”
