The team at Mansard House in Preston wanted to share a good news story for ML who has been supported at Mansard House for 7 years. Through ML’s hard work and dedication he is now living in his “forever home” a dream that ML always had for his future and has now made it a reality.
Manager Vanessa said:
“ML thrived whilst at living at Mansard House, trying new things such as going to watch the football at Preston North End. He is now an annual season ticket holder where he meets up with his friends from Mansard to watch the football at home games.
ML has developed meaningful relationships whilst at Mansard and will come back often to visit and spend time with those who still live there to play games of dominoes and games of bingo.
ML worked hard to find the right flat for his future, learning how to bid for flats online. There were some set backs, however ML held his head high and persevered until the right one came along.
ML has taken great pride in his new flat, decorating it with staff to make it his own home. He not only now runs his own household, but has set up his own bills, budgeting with his finances and completing his own shopping each week. He also runs and maintains a scooter which he uses daily to explore the surrounding areas and beauty spots for his daily walks for fresh air and exercise.
It’s been wonderful to see ML’s success story flourish, building a life beyond services.”
