Lydia moved into Paxton House at the end of 2022. Since then, Lydia has come on in leaps and bounds as she has settled into her new home. 🏡 Lydia had been building on her skills and everyday tasks.
Manager Viorika said, “When Lydia first joined us at Paxton it took time for her to settle in, staff spent a lot of time gaining Lydia’s trust and confidence by spending time with her and allowing her to set her own pace. In the last few months, Lydia has flourished. 😁 We are starting to see progress in all aspects of her life. Lydia has gone from not having any interest in our household tasks to understanding that we mop after dinner and do the dishes after we eat and now gets very excited to help with tasks such as helping change her bedsheets all with encouragement from staff. 👏 When Lydia first moved to Paxton, she had anxieties around food/mealtimes, which would show in multiple different ways and so staff would make all meals and drinks for her to help manage these anxieties. Lydia now makes all her drinks herself and actively participates in making meals, with baking becoming a very popular activity. 👩🍳 Just the other week Lydia had a very successful dentist visit. 🦷 Lydia does have anxieties over waiting in all aspects of life and 5 minutes has been her usual best. However, at her last visit to the dentist we had to wait 25 minutes and although there were moments of anxiety whilst waiting, the visit as a whole was a huge success and the whole team at Paxton was very proud of her. 💛 Lydia is reaching new goals weekly and you can see on Lydia`s face how happy and proud she is. 😁 We have many exciting things in store for Lydia including a trip on the bus and Christmas Illuminations. 🚌 There is nothing Lydia is not going to achieve and we at Paxton are very proud of her.” 🌟
Lydia’s keyworker Helen said, “I am in awe of Lydia and the progression she has made and continues to make. 😊 She surprises me every day with a new skill and such willingness to learn. It’s amazing to watch her develop her skills but also confidence, independence and happiness and I look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next!” 🤩
An amazing support outcome for Lydia, well done to the team at Paxton House for supporting Lydia on achieving her goals and developing her skills. 👏
Well done Lydia your progress is fantastic, we hope you are very proud of yourself as we are all very proud of you. 🧡
