Residents at Heathfield Gardens got in the Halloween spirit this year: with pumpkin carving, choosing costumes, decorating the service, and hosting a huge party they were certainly kept busy!
Service Manager, Ana Beja explains: “The Halloween party started to be prepared nearly a month before, with residents supported to make the invites and to send them to their families and friends, and nearby services: Larwood House and Paxton House. After supported to make and send the invites the next task was to the traditional carving of pumpkins and it was clearly how proud they were in doing this.”
During the week before Halloween day, everyone was busy choosing and buying costumes, with many weel-kept secrets so they could suprise each other on the chose their costumes and to go to the shops to buy them. What the outfit would be was a well-kept secret between the resident and the staff.
Ana adds: “On the day of the party, residents were supported to decorate the conservatory and halls ready for the party and 6pm and to welcome their family and friends. Our party involved a DJ with spooky tunes and disco lights, sweet and savoury treats, different drinks that included the special Heathfield punch, fancy dress for all residents family’s and staff. It was a fun filled night for everyone.”
