Fantastic celebrations in our services in support of World Mental Health Day last week! 💚

We wanted to continue to share with everyone, the fantastic celebrations our services had in support of World Mental Health Day last week! 💚

At Mansard House they enjoyed a ‘Hug in a Mug’🤗☕️ and a chat discussing the importance of mental health. They ended the day with a lovely mindfulness walk in their local park, with a stop at the park cafe for refreshments! 🫖🧁

Dale House hosted a successful tea and talk. ✨

Senior support worker Michaela said “Leading up to World Mental Health Day we all wore our pin badges and motivational bracelets. Whilst enjoying our afternoon tea we discussed the importance of talking about how we feel and what could happen if we don’t. Sharing what makes us happy and our happy memories. 😊 We all laughed, got emotional and smiled together. 🤗 We enjoyed group karaoke and dancing. 🎤 Everyone said what a lovely day they had, spending it together and sharing our memories and happy thoughts – a very positive day!” 🧡

Cecil Court also hosted a tea and talk!

Staff member Tracy L said, “We had an amazing tea and talk, we put lots of ice breakers into a bowl and we all had to answer them, which everyone enjoyed as they talked and laughed together.” 🙌

Michaela said “It was so lovely to see everyone at Cecil come together and share their own experiences. Tracy L also decorated a notice board for Mental Health Awareness with helpful tips.” 😀

In Liverpool Avoca organised an afternoon tea! 🤩

Service Lead Lynn said “We had a lovely afternoon tea with plenty of talking and laughing. 😁. Everyone made green ribbons to wear, along with their motivational wristbands. 💚 We all enjoyed making cakes and playing mental health-themed sensory games. With a range of guessing games, a favourite was each person had to feel what was on the plates in the box, there were plates of jelly, slimy pasta that everyone thought were worms, popcorn, shaving foam (what a mess 😆) and some battery-operated spiders, you can imagine the screams and laughter. 🕷️ Everyone laughed and talked all afternoon with each other, and the people we support have asked for more afternoons like this.” 👏

At Calder View and Pendle View, they started their day by baking cakes and decorating for their tea and talk! 🍰

Manager Debbie said “We went live from each service, chatting about mental health, how to feel better, coping strategies and a short questionnaire. It was great to see the people we support at both houses come together. It was so successful we will now be doing this once a month called ‘tea n chat – feel good sessions’ bringing the people we support together! 🤩 Graham from Calder View spent all afternoon in the lounge, something he doesn’t often do, drinking tea, chatting and really enjoying the teams chat with the other house! 👏 At Pendle we finished off with some fun karaoke.”🎤🎵

Amazing celebrations, great examples of the importance of connectedness! 😊

Well done everyone! 🧡
