On Saturday 30th June, Dale House held a Family Fun Day at the local community centre in Dipton. The aim of the day was to raise funds to have the garden re-designed and a decking area laid.
There was a budget already in place, from Potens – however the team and service users wanted to do more, and decided to raise the shortfall themselves. The day was planned well in advance, involving all the staff and service users.
The night before the event staff Michelle and Adam went to the community centre voluntarily to set up the tables, made an area safe for the opportunity to be sponged and cream pied!, member of staff Carol, spent the day before (her day off) baking. Every member of staff whether they were on shift or not, were there on the day to support our service users, sell from various stalls and supply refreshments. It was good to see other staff from The Croft there too to support the event in their own time.
The day was a complete success, Alison the Manager had a target to raise £900 and the overall was £986.20 – Fantastic….
Look how lovely this looks – Well done to Alison and her team!!
