A Spooktacular Halloween at Potens! 🎃🦇

Happy Halloween Everyone! 🎃🦇🧡

On Saturday 26th October lots of our services celebrated National Pumpkin Day, by making some spooky pumpkins for Halloween! 🎃

At Newbold Road, Niall, Lauren, Charlie, Rhiannon and Oliver all visited a couple of different pumpkin patches, enjoying a walk around the fields, examining the different pumpkins and displaying some excellent balancing skills in the mud! 😁 Staff member Bec said “Everyone loved choosing their different sized pumpkins to bring home with them! 🏡 Niall, Rhiannon and Oliver all purchased some food from the food van at the field, sitting on the benches to eat, whilst enjoying the view and watching other people search for their perfect pumpkin. Everyone had a great day out!” 😊

At Queens Court, they opened their own pumpkin patch to get everyone in the Halloween spirit. 🎃 Recovery Coordinator Kay said “Our pumpkin patch has certainly put a smile on everyone’s faces. 😁 It was nice to see the people we support come together to visit the patch to select their own pumpkins and head to the hub to carve and create their masterpieces. Ready for the winner to be revealed at our Halloween Party tonight!” 🎃🧡

Manager at The Barn Sue said, β€œThe people we support at The Barn got creative with their pumpkins in preparation for Halloween. Gail, Eileen and Leah all got artistic with their pumpkins. Just look at the joy on their faces. 🤩 Happy Halloween everyone from all at The Barn.” 👻

Heathfield Gardens celebrated the day by baking some pumpkin-shaped cookies, which look delicious! 🎃😍

Manager at Walker Heights Sarah said, “It was National Pumpkin Day on Saturday and here at Walker Heights some of the people we support participated in our spooky pumpkin carving activity! 🙌 We got 7 big pumpkins and everyone enjoyed the fun, getting creative and carving their scariest faces onto their pumpkins. 🎃 The activity was such a success everyone wanted to carve more! Lots of fun all around.” 😁

At Kensington Hall, they started the day by making their own pizzas to enjoy before starting their pumpkin carving. ✨ Deputy Manager Julie said “Christine, Jackie, John Paul, Mark, Deirdre and Stacey made the dough with staff support and everyone enjoyed picking and putting on their own toppings. 🍕 After everyone cooked and enjoyed their homemade pizzas it was time for the pumpkin carving. Everyone dived straight in and pulled out all the seeds from the pumpkins and Deirdre has asked us to keep the seeds to dry them out and try and grow pumpkins for next year, hopefully this works. 🤞We had a great afternoon all together cooking and getting into the Halloween spirit carving our pumpkins.” 👏🎃

It looks like everyone has had a spooktacular time carving their pumpkins, we hope everyone has the best Halloween and we can’t wait to see your spooky costumes and Halloween Parties! 🎃👻🕷️
