In September a group of Individuals supported at Potens’ Springfield day Opportunites service in Darlington had a fantastic few days in Blackpool, here they share their story.
The group of 12 individuals were supported by 6 staff members from Potens’ Springfield day Opportunities service in Darlington. Staying in local hotels, the group enjoyed a two night stay and certainly got into the swing of things with shows, bingo, dancing and sightseeing.
Manager Catherine Corner explains: “We arrived in Blackpool around 3pm and everyone got settled in to their hotel. We enjoyed a night in the Elgin Hotel playing bingo and watching live Singers and having a boogie!”
On Saturday the group headed on the tram to the North Pier and went to Madam Tussauds – taking lots of photos with their favourite Celebrities!
“After that we headed to Blackpool tower to watch the Circus were they were celebrating the Endresz family’s 25th anniversary. Followed by another nights entertainment and a Quiz, where we won a box of chocolates and a Rod Stewart Tribute Act Prize!”
On Sunday the group headed out to Blackpool Zoo, followed by a trip through the Blackpool illuminations, before spending their final evening watching a live singer and playing bingo.
Certainly a fun filled and packed trip!
