We are delighted to announce that our residential service in Bury, Walmersley Road, has retained the Autism Accreditation Status from the National Autistic Society (NAS) again – demonstrating its continued commitment and best practice in supporting adults with Autism.’
Walmersley Road in Bury is a Registered Residential home and outreach support service for people with learning disabilities, including those on the autistic spectrum, for long term, short term and respite support needs.
During an assessment in May the service demonstrated to NAS how its practices and delivery focus on Autism, retaining its accreditation for another year.
The report highlights a number of strengths of the service which have a positive impact on the quality of life of autistic people, in particular enabling them to be more independent, to make decision and to be socially included within their local community. It was also noted that feedback from autistic people show that they are happy with the support they receive, and staff understanding of their skills and needs.
Mike Hartley, Potens’ Regional Director, said:
“The Quality Status is an internationally recognised quality standard with homes being assessed and accredited by the National Autistic Society (NAS). It is a mark of high quality organisations that aspire to put the interests of people with Autism at the heart of what they do.”
