Our Outreach service operates from Arbour House School and is very much based on being outcome focused by developing ‘functional life-based strategies’ to promote the development of daily living skills in the wider community for children and young people with complex social and communication needs.
Focusing on children and young people between the ages of 5-16 years we work alongside individuals and their families and design person-centred and outcome-focused programmes.
Our outreach programmes are unique in that they are linked with our education provision and offer the following support:
Specialist teacher support in developing and adapting the curriculum to make it relevant to and for the person;
Specialist teacher and teaching assistant support for children & young people who are not accessing formal education;
Specialist teacher support in adapting the environment to reduce anxiety;
Specialist teaching assistant support for social – emotional understanding, communication and attachment disorder;
Assessment for measuring children with autism in the mild-to-moderate range from children with autism in the moderate-to-severe range. This assessment also discriminates between children with autism and children with severe cognitive deficits;
Individualised psychoeducational assessment for measuring individual strengths and areas for development;
