Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and this year’s theme being ‘Changing the narrative on suicide’ to action ‘Start the Conversation’. 🎗
This year’s theme aims to reduce stigma and encourage people to start open conversations to prevent suicides by discussing suicide and suicide prevention. To break down the barriers, raise awareness and create better cultures of support. 💛
At Cecil Court, their Wellbeing Lead Tracy organised some time for the staff team and people we support to discuss World Suicide Prevention Day. After their discussions, they decided to make some posters to support the day containing suicide prevention methods, and motivational quotes to encourage people to talk, ask for help and share their thoughts – to know they are not alone. 🤗 They were then proudly displayed on their wellbeing wall. 🌟👏
Manager Joanne said, “This activity and the discussions we all had were so important as we want everyone to know that they are not alone and can speak to us anytime about those thoughts and feelings they have.” 😊
