Potens welcomes CQC’s Chief Executive

CQC’s Chief Executive, David Behan, paid a special visit to one of Potens’ residential services in Lancashire in June, to visit Individuals and staff as part of National Care Home Open Day.

On the 17th June 2016 Potens joined hundreds of care providers across the UK to open its doors to friends, family, neighbours and health and social care partners to celebrate the annual National event.

CQC selected our Preston based residential provision Mansard House, home to 10 Individuals with mental health needs, for their Chief Executive to visit on the day.

This was in response to the service being one of the highest scoring services following the recent round of inspections locally – with the service receiving an outstanding in the area of responsiveness.

Area Manager, Tricia Scott explains “David was welcomed by staff and Individuals on the day to look round the service, join in the celebrations which included an awards ceremony, and chat to Individuals and staff about the work being completed and the service provided.”

David’s visit lasted over 3 hours and he spoke to Individuals, staff and the Manager of the service to find out more about the fantastic work being delivered and how the services has changed people’s lives – with its key aim to make people be the best they could be.

Tricia adds: “David also chatted to service users to find out about their experiences and how the service has helped them personally. It was fantastic to show off our service and a great experience for both the staff and Individuals to hear direct from the Chief Executive of CQC.”

“David told us he had really enjoyed visiting Mansard house and ended by saying ‘it had been good for his soul’. Tricia adds.

Following the visit David Behan sent through a personal letter thanking Potens for the visit and said it was ‘inspirational’
