Potens new supporter of Special Olympics GB

 

Potens is delighted to announce they have become an Official Supporter of Special Olympics GB for the next 12 months – supporting the largest year-round, all ability, sports programme in Great Britain which supports over 10,000 athletes with learning disabilities.

 

Across, England, Scotland and Wales, Special Olympics GB runs approximately 27,000 regular sports coaching sessions, delivered locally each year by 140 accredited programmes across 28 different sports. Special Olympics GB relies on funding and support from individuals, corporates and charitable trusts & foundations like Potens. This support is crucial to sustain their amazing work and for their successful growth to reach every adult and child with a learning disability through sport.

 

Special Olympics GB’s Chairman Murton Mann, said: “We are delighted that Potens have become an Official Supporter of Special Olympics GB.  I know our athletes, clubs and regions around England, Scotland and Wales will be thrilled with this news.”

 

Potens’ Chairman John Farragher commented: “It is with a great sense of pride that we have commenced official sponsorship of the Special Olympics GB which gives people with learning disabilities a platform to show off their sporting talents and to be recognised for their achievements. We have long been supporters of the Olympics and will certainly be utilising this opportunity to further embrace and promote the healthy living, active lifestyles and mental wellbeing of both those we support in our services and our staff teams up and down the country.”

 

In addition, Special Olympics GB host over 100 local and regional all ability, inclusive sports competitions throughout the year, as well as National events annually. The next key event being the very special Anniversary Games, hosted by Special Olympics Scotland which will be held in Stirling, Scotland in August 2018.

Potens will be raising awareness, sharing sponsorship activity and promoting ways our stakeholders can get involved over the coming months.
