Queens Court celebrate Nutrition and Hydration Week

Queens Court in Conwy celebrated Nutrition and Hydration Week 2021 with lots of activities taking place in their Recovery Hub to promote healthy eating and good hydration – as well as future planning to make some permanent changes to a healthier lifestyle.

Manager Sharon Feehan explains:

“In our Recovery Hub we swapped our coffee for de-caff and on the tables placed fruit bowls, jugs of water and fresh juices. We enjoyed putting meal plans together and researching into a healthier lifestyle and all the wonderful and easy recipes available. We then put that into action and made fresh fruit cocktails, smoothies and ice lollies for those warmer days! Within our garden area and ‘Potens Patch’ we have grown our own veggies and have enjoyed seeing the process.”

The team have also worked with the people they support to brainstorm ideas and put plans in place to drive forward this new healthy focus with lots of events planned for the future.

“We are having a weekly swimming event, and were also taking part in the couch to 5k NHS Exercise regime. We also discussed other sporting events we could attend or do ourselves and will be looking into these over the coming months. This week we have definitely educated ourselves and look forward to our new goals and targets in taking the steps to a healthier us.”
